Question 2-Draft

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary tasks?

I decided to keep the same theme through the ancillary tasks, in order to create a brand identity. I decided to keep the colour scheme and imagery, to match genre convention. I used the front cover of my Digipak as the main photograph for my advert as it is commonplace among artists to do so, such as the adverts I researched ('21st Century Breakdown' by Green Day and 'Believers Never Die' Fall Out Boy).

I believe the synchronised combination of my Digipak and advert creates an effective brand identity, which also matches genre conventions and provides the unnerving undertones which I intended to portray.

I decided to keep the colour scheme of black and white to match the thematic scheme of my album. The character 'Spring Heeled Jack' was depicted in black and white in the Penny Dreadfuls he appeared in, thus, I chose to stick to this theme. Black and white are also polar opposite colours, and they wholly contrast, ensuring that it does stand out.

I chose this font as it is reminiscent of blood splatters, and also graffiti and also aptly named 'You Murderer'. I decided to use the same font for both pieces to keep consistency throughout, as it adds more of a professional and industry feel to it, but it also keeps the same unnerving tone that was intended with the imagery.
